Kym HarrisKym Harris always wanted to help people, so psychology is a field that came naturally to him.

When you choose to see him for help, you are entrusting your care to a respected psychologist of many years standing, one who has a reputation second to none, plus the respect of his colleagues, both as a psychologist and a hypnotherapist.

His quiet, respectful manner works hand in hand with a sharp and insightful mind.  He has vast experience helping people to achieve their goals across a range of issues, providing strategies and building confidence to tackle challenges of any dimensions.

Kym initially trained and worked as a teacher, the first stage of his dream to work as an educational psychologist. This he did for many years, both in regional South Australia and metropolitan Adelaide.

He expanded his career when he trained as a hypnotherapist and began to work as a private practice psychologist.

His skills and reputation as a psychologist have meant that he has been in demand to work in many different fields, including as a teacher, particularly of hypnotherapy and in the field of educational psychology.

He worked as an institutional psychologist with the Adelaide Remand Centre, then as a group therapist, counsellor and forensic assessor with the Sex Offender Treatment and Assessment Program run by the SA Health Commission.

For several years, in a consultant capacity, he has offered EAP (Employee Assistance Program) and trauma services to a range of organisations.

On many occasions Kym has put to work his skills as a general aviation pilot, flying a light aircraft to remote areas to deliver psychology services.  For over twenty years, he regularly flew himself to Yorke Peninsula, making him one of the first practitioners to provide private psychology services to the local community.

Over the years, he has taken an active interest in the advancement of psychology and has made significant contributions to a range of professional organisations, both at state and national level.

His lifelong interest in the nature of consciousness is mirrored in his fascination with, and exploration of the invisible forces of nature.

For the greater part of his life, Kym has immersed himself in the elements – finding his place within, via his passion for sailing, aviation and free flight.

For all that Kym spends as much time in the air as he can, he has his feet firmly on the ground.
